Privacy Protection Notice

Parkland Agri Services Corp. has always been committed to protecting the privacy of all client personal information that we collect and maintain in the course of carrying on our business. We are pleased to provide you with our Privacy Protection Notice, which describes how we collect, hold, use and, when needed, disclose your personal information when we do business with you and our various financial product suppliers. Please read this notice as it is required by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) and similar provincial privacy legislation and contact us through one of the means listed at the end of this notice if you have any questions.

1. Client Data and Personal Information:

The personal information collected about our clients for the purposes identified in this Privacy Protection Notice is maintained in various physical and electronic files, collectively referred to as “Client Data”. The personal information included as Client Data may include your name, address and telephone number, business name, address and telephone number, usernames and passwords for various accounts such as e-mail, workstation and administrative accounts for LAN (local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) Servers (Domain and otherwise). Depending on services or products requested by our clients, additional personal information may be included in your Client Data. For example, if you have established a pre-authorized payment plan, your financial institution account number is recorded in your client record.


2. Providing Your Information to Parkland Agri Services Corp.:

Clients provide us with your personal information through one of our representatives. Parkland Agri Services Corp. collects this personal information and uses it as needed to deliver our services to you, and when needed, discloses it only for the purposes identified in this Privacy Protection Notice.

3. Collecting, Holding, Using and Disclosing Information:

Parkland Agri Services Corp. may collect, hold and use the personal information in your client record as well as collect personal information from and disclose personal information to the third parties identified below for the following purposes:
A.  identifying you and ensuring the accuracy of Client Data;
B. establishing and administration of your account, determining, maintaining, recording and storing account information and transaction information;
C. providing our clients with account statements and other information which may be required to maintain your account and current payments;
D. understanding your Agricultual planning requirements and for products and services and recommending particular products and services to meet your needs;
E. protecting our clients, Parkland Agri Services Corp., and our various product suppliers against error and fraud;
F. meeting the legal and regulatory requirements of various statutes including Provincial and Federal legislation; and
G. verifying information previously given by our clients with any other organization when necessary for the purposes provided in this Privacy Protection Notice.

4. Parkland Agri Services Corp. may collect your personal information for the purposes identified in this Privacy Protection Notice from third parties such as your accountant, lawyer, banker, Internet service Providers (ISP's), other companies required to maintain services to our clients; and from any other third party who you authorize to disclose this information. Parkland Agri Services Corp. may disclose your personal information for the purposes identified in this Privacy Protection Notice to other companies in the Parkland Agri Services Group, Canada Post, courier and document storage companies.

When Parkland Agri Services transfers personal information to its service providers we ensure that the transferred personal information is used only for the purposes for which the service provider is retained. If you wish to withdraw consent to the continuation of this information sharing or discuss the implications of such withdrawal, please contact us through one of the means listed at the end of this notice. In some circumstances, legal requirements may prevent you from withholding consent. Your decision to withhold consent may limit our ability to deal with you and may also limit the products and services that we provide you because the collection of information and the disclosure to certain third parties is a necessary part of making the product or service available to you.

Members of the Parkland Agri Services Corp. Group and any affiliate or successor company of each of them whose business relates to a purpose identified in this Privacy Protection Notice. Your personal information will not be shared with sales representatives of any other company without your consent.

5. Employees and Representatives Who Have Access to Your Data:

Parkland Agri Services Corp. employees and representatives, may have access to your client data provided they have a specific need to know in connection with the purposes identified in this Privacy Protection Notice and access is permitted only to the extent necessary for such purposes.

6. Location of Your Client Data:

Your client records, in electronic or paper format are kept at the offices of Parkland Agri Services Corp. Paper records forming part of your client data may also be kept in secure offsite storage. Your client data may be transferred to other locations for disaster recovery purposes. Client data in paper form that is no longer required is shredded in a document shedder on-site prior to being disposed of.

7. Right to Access and Rectify Personal Information:

Except in limited circumstances prescribed by the Protection of Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) and similar provincial privacy protection legislation, you are entitled to access, through a written request, the personal information contained in your client record.
